Refinished bathtub

Pretty excited about this project. When the house was being renovated we decided to keep the old bathtub in the guest bathroom due to its unique size. The metal (we believe) tub had unfortunately seen better days though. Well, we finally got someone out to refinish it – it’s beautiful!

We’re almost done! Just a few more finishing touches remain.

Sneak Peak

We’re close to the end! We’ll have more before and after photos really soon, but here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come.

Granite Countertops

We installed black/green colored granite for the countertops.

Exterior Paint

The original cedar siding was painted “Turkish coffee” brown, the trim is a creamy white, and the windows are “Roycroft” red. We also added the three brackets to the front of the house.

 

Kitchen Cabinets

The cabinets were installed last night. They are a shaker style with a medium stain. The kitchen has an open floor plan with a bar area, so it should be really nice for entertaining.

 

Electrical

The electrical fixtures have been installed. We went with ceiling fans in each bedroom, mini halogens in the kitchen, wall sconces in the bathrooms, and a chandelier in the dining room.

 

Priming Time

The interior of the house was prepped and primed!

 

The Floors are Beautiful

After 90 years the original heart pine floors are still amazing! After sanding our refinisher looked at the wood and said “These old floors are 1,000 times better than new floors.”  He is a man who knows what he is talking about. Unfortunatly, in a couple rooms we had to replace the floor because it had been damaged over the years.  We went back with pine, but in order to make the color match we had to mix some stains. It should be close.
